“Rotary Reads to ME” Program Inaugural Year a Success
The “Rotary Reads to ME” program began in September 2023 and is funded in part by a Rotary District 7790 grant. Nearly 50 books were purchased locally and donated to classrooms as part of this program and the club distributed one book to every first-grade student in May at the end of first year of reading. The club also helped support an end of the year celebration that was coordinated by the first-grade teaching team and focused on literacy, math, and other learning concepts.
The Caribou, Presque Isle, and Washburn Rotary Clubs are excited to announce a newly designed Aroostook River Fun Run event, taking place May 18, 2024 at 10am. This long-time community event will continue to feature a river, biking, and 5K Run/Walk component, but each leg has been redesigned to provide a safer route and access to more post-event festivities. Rotarians are excited to announce that the club is returning to a more standard auction format in April with three ways for the community to get their bids in. The increasingly popular online auction that has been featured since 2018 will have a three-week run where anyone, anywhere will be able to bid on items, gift cards, and services. Then April 5th and 6th, the PI Rotary Auction will get the general community involved in the fun by hosting two nights of in-person bidding during both the silent and live auctions. The event will wrap up with an open to the public celebration with entertainment.
NorState Federal Credit Union has extended its support to the Presque Isle Rotary Club’s Amphitheater project with a recent $10,000 donation. The club’s project is continuing to gain positive momentum since beginning their large fundraising push in mid-October and club members are appreciative of the initial donations and additional support that continues to come in from community members.
Presque Isle Rotary Club is excited to announce MMG Insurance has recently donated $10,000 to the club in support of the Presque Isle Rotary Amphitheater project, which aims to construct a new, multi-purpose, permanent structure to host performing arts and cultural events.
