9AM-12PM

Paws For Mental Health is a dog-friendly community walk to bring mental health and animal welfare to the forefront. In 2024, the Presque Isle Rotary Club began planting Hope Gardens throughout Presque Isle area, as part of the Yellow Tulip Project. In 2025, the club hopes to plant additional gardens, and expand the gardens to include PSAs about mental health. The Paws For Mental Health 5K will raise funds for the club to complete this efforts, but that’s not all! This collaborative event will also support the Central Aroostook Humane Society as they finalize their move into their new facility and will offset day-to-day costs.

What is the cost to participate?

This event is completely FREE to participate! Register yourself or other members of your group below!

What will the event look like?

The 5K event is a non-timed walk begins at the Central Aroostook Humane Society and participants walk along the marked path (just follow the yellow tulips!) to Peace Park. Once participants reach Peace Park, there will be a “Pause For Mental Health” ceremony, where we will unveil a new Peace Pole and future Hope Garden. Participants can stay at the park as long as they’d like before returning on the same route back to the humane society for a block party! The Central Aroostook Humane Society will be hosting the grand opening of their new building, so we will have food vendors, music, games and more!

How does this event raise funds?

Participants can raise funds to support the initiatives if they choose by making personal donations or soliciting pledges/sponsorships from their family and friends, but donations are NOT required. Click here to access our online donation form or here to access a printable pledge sheet that can be returned (with all pledged funds) on the day of the event.
