PI Rotary Solicits Community Project and Regular Auction Proceed Partners for 2018 Rotary Auction
Planning for the 71st Annual Rotary Auction has begun! We are looking to team with local non profit organizations to help fund their projects that will improve the lives of others. In addition, we are excited to announce we will continue our collaboration with the Presque Isle Kiwanis Club to jointly support a larger Community Project. Applications for both regular auction proceed partners and Community Project Partners can be found to the right hand side of the homepage. As a result of our successful collaboration over the past year to support the development of a new playground at Riverside Park, the Presque Isle Rotary Club and Presque Isle Kiwanis Club will continue our partnership to jointly support a worthwhile Community Project in 2018 through our respective and collective awareness and fundraising efforts. We are officially putting out the call to non-profit organizations serving our community to apply for consideration as our 2018 Community Project Partner, and invite you to submit an application.
Rotary and Kiwanis will work with our selected Community Project Partner through the end of 2018 to raise both community awareness and funds to support the initiative. The project will be featured as part of the 2018 Presque Isle Rotary Auction, which will be both online and on television this fall. Auction details are still being worked out, but the television broadcast is set for Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Presque Isle Kiwanis Club will also include the project in its fundraising and community outreach, with more details to be announced in the coming months.
It is anticipated that our collective efforts will raise between $20,000 and $30,000.* The Community Project is funded in partnership with the organization/project selected, through a collaborative solicitation of direct community member donations (which culminate during the televised Rotary Auction). It is the expectation of both Rotary and Kiwanis that the organization selected as a Community Project Partner will be fully engaged in the effort to raise funds, and that the project will be completed within a year (or shortly thereafter) of the conclusion of the joint fundraising effort.
In addition to this letter serving as an invitation to non-profit community organizations to apply for Community Project Partner status, it is also an open invitation for groups to apply for smaller funding allocations as a Presque Isle Rotary Auction Proceed Partner for 2018. Funded directly with proceeds raised through the Auction, awards typically range from $1,000 to $3,000.*
